This is a fan-made overhaul mod for the popular 1997 MALICE total conversion for Quake. Included are a combination of bugfixes, adjustments for modern Quake ports, enhanced mapping features, added visual effects, and gameplay tweaks that should make MALICE a less frustrating but still challenging experience.

Will you consider changing the player's movement speed? Damage strafes way too fast, which is especially noticeable in closed in areas. The running scheme in Malice is also inverted and apparently it doesn't work properly in anything based off QuakeSpasm.

Possibly, but I consider the movement speed difference Malice has from regular Quake to be part of what sets it apart.

Running *should* no longer be inverted in Malice Refined. Make sure your 'cl_movespeedkey' value is set to Quake's normal 2 since vanilla Malice sets it to 0.5 and that might still be in your config. In Ironwail I have my always run setting set to 'quakespasm' and it works as expected.
