------Map Instructions-----------------------------------------------
Put the folder named "nova" in your Half-Life folder, next to the Valve and TFC folders.
>>Important Note!<<
To run this episode, you need to have updated your copy of Half-Life to the latest version.
If you havn't already done so, go to the main menu of Half-Life, go to "Configuration" and
then click on "Update" to do this. Alternately the patch can be downloaded... just
search for "half-life update" at fileplanet.com, and then download the latest official patch.
Once you've updated to the latest version of Half-Life, just go to "Custom Game" in the main
menu, then click on "Operation Nova" and choose "New game" to start.
If you've got the Steam version of Half-Life, you should paste the "nova" folder into
Steam/SteamApps//Half-Life. Then if you open the "My Games" list in Steam,
it will be listed under "Third Party Games.".
------Play Information-----------------------------------------------

STORY:
You are John Skinner, a cleaner at Black Mesa. You started your day cleaning up a chemical spill,
wearing a HEV suit like you often do. However, shortly after you started your shift, there was
a disasterous accident in the anomylous materials lab. Following the ensuing chaos, including
security systems going haywire and the minor problem of an alien invasion taking place around
you, you and another scientist decided to hide out in the glamorous setting of some toilets.
Unfortunately for you, your HEV suit makes you look identical to Gordon Freeman- the military's
most wanted man in Black Mesa.
Note:
This episode takes place at roughly the same time as the latter stages of the episode
'On a Rail'. This is reflected in the storyline as it develops.
>>Another Note!<<
This episode contains a number of puzzles designed to make you think. Based on the feedback
I've received about them, most people find it satisfying to figure them out, because they're
a fun challenge. However, if you get stuck, there is a hints.txt file that should help you
out.

A single-player episode for Half-Life 1. The episode takes place during the events featured in the original Half-Life; specifically, the episode entitled On a Rail. The player plays John Skinner, a cleaner who wears a similar HEV suit to Freeman, and is hence mistaken for him by the military. Skinner’s objective is to destroy a surface-to-air missile launcher, which the military have brought in to take out the satellite delivery rocket being launched by Freeman. The episode features voice acting performed by experienced voice actors (including some with professional voice acting experience).”

Here is some Operation Nova Walkthrough, Xash on this mod is actually impressive but it's very good for Hard difficulty.
Why this mod is no longer available?
This maps is looking good, this mod is great
theres like a minigun that doesnt work unless you go in front of it...then theres these manholes that have this wheel thing (dog?) next to them that do nothing...then theres a plunger for a bomb to explode that i think is supposed to explode a pipe so the player can get in it but that doesnt happen and i had to noclip cheat into the pipe...then the ending is just...yeah idk...it starts strong with lots of cool things and voice acting and cool places and puzzels...then it really goes downhill
Trying.
Fantastic mod that flew under the radar of so many, try it, it's great.
This is very nice and I'm enjoying it but I got to a part in which I'm outside and soldiers keep descending and I don't know what to do.
you have to shoot down the Osprey they are coming from, there is a bit of ammo around the area, shoot the rotors of the thing when it comes to lower more soldiers down and eventually it'll blow up.
Just a note, that the user that posted this mod is using an ugly texture/model pack. The screenshots are a little misleading and the mod doesn't actually look like this by default.
I like classic atmosphere mods a lot, but I couldn't keep playing as there is some sort of bug in the second level when the scientist gets zapped and when you're supposed to climb up the barnacle. The level ends with postmortem message and I have no clue what I've done whatever I do. Either kill the barnacle, climb up the barnacle or just do nothing.
There is no reason for there to be a time limit at that point. You have to ride the barnacle up, shoot the emergency button at the top of the lift, then kill the barnacle so you can drop safely onto the ascending lift.
The time limit is completely unnecessary and likely exists just in case the player kills both barnacles. It's a pretty good puzzle, but not a great setup.
