It's unbelievable that this hasn't caught the attention of the majority of the portal community. Such a nostalgic puzzle game has been modified into a playable multiplayer experience with little to no problems. When I tell you the amount of effort put into this mod in such a short time was done, you might not think of it to be true. We've all seen a few of the "multiplayer mods" for Portal 1. Speaking for themselves, they're all broken and buggy. Those developers failed to continue to make changes, leaving them in their unfinished state. Even then, very few portal community members wanted to put in the effort to fix them or make these games work. I appreciate everything in this mod, beyond the expected function of allowing multiplayer. Everything in this mod is the closest you can get to a satisfying and non-major buggy cooperative/multiplayer experience. It's very user-friendly, and you'll have nothing to complain about. You'll only think, "What else is there going to be added to this mod that will make it more fun?" Because we've gone past the point of "What can this mod get fixed to make it more playable?"

My Favorite Feature ====

One feature to stand out in this game is the character selection. In the Portal 1 Cooperative mod, there are a few characters to select from to play in the multiplayer game. These characters range from canon to fan-fictional. To select from, you have Abby from Portal: Prelude, Mel from the original Portal 2 cooperative series, and the male test subject from the Portal beta. I've talked to the creator, and permission for the Portal: Prelude Abby character was approved. The creator continues to seek more characters to add to this collection. Something in my brain satisfies me just being able to play as different Portal 1 fan fictional characters in this game (from different mods). In my head, I imagined the idea of having a bunch of Portal 1 mod characters in one game. Similar to the Super Smash Brothers, with Nintendo's featured main characters. Maybe in another universe, there would be all of them featured in the game, but this is all we have so far.

What Does The Mod Fix? ====

Modifications to this game have allowed for a more stable experience. I can't think of every problem that was fixed. The problems that would happen without the fixed modifications provided in the mod... Were a majority that made simple things in the original single-player Portal more janky and glitchy. Momentum-based puzzles and flinging we're inconsistent, making the player stop in the middle of the portal and fall disappointingly. Picking up cubes we're laggy, and dropping them caused the game to crash, players would spawn inside of each other and cause the currently in-game person to die. Ragdolls would spawn as a result of the player dying, leaving behind a weird physical obstacle that could also crash the game. ALL OF THIS WAS FIXED!.. in the mod.

Portal Cooperative is truly an amazing experience, the piston pits are nicely detailed which a lot of mods actually forget to do, thankfully not this one.

After having played this with some friends, it was an absolutely hilarious experience! I am really surprised this didn't gain more popularity.

I played the 2 player campaign multiple times as a playtester and it was very fun each time, the levels weren't too complicated to complete.

I will gladly give this a 10/10
