i've patched the bug from the game not starting
so first of all if you already have the portal flash you just copy paste the portal 1 folder into the portal flash then in the developer console you type "map portaltfv1"
then done.

could not load materials/console/background01_widescreen.vtf so i downloaded one and put it in there then could not load materials/console/startup_loading.vtf so i downloaded one and put it in there then could not load library client i looked it up Steamcommunity.com and tried it but the mod doesnt have a bin folder . so what am i supposed to do?

background1 (maybe background2, but I haven't checked that one) throws a "not precached" error, making it impossible to even load the menu unless you delete the background map from the map folder. Deleting the map will remove the custom menu screens, but make the mod playable.

(leaving this here in case another non-mapper has the problems I did)
