The Steyr AUG is an Austrian bullpup 5.56 x 45mm NATO assault rifle, designed in the early 1970s. The AUG (Armee Universal Gewehr - "universal army rifle") was adopted by the Austrian Army in 1977. In production since 1978, it is the standard small arm of various military forces and police units around the world.
It's bullpup design allows a long, accurate and powerfull barrel in a compact overall length with a rugged 1.5 power scope. Given it's high rate of fire and weighty rear-end of the bullpup design, it's full auto can be hard to handle with long bursts. It is a very rare find in the Zone.
