The goal of Resistance and Liberation is to realistically portray the events and actions taken by the 82nd Airborne during their stay in Normandy. Our initial release will follow the regiments through a campaign that mimics that followed by the men themselves. The campaign will begin with players dropping into Normandy in the early hours of June 6th, with the ultimate objective of capturing the town of Sainte-Mere-Eglise. From there subsiquent maps will include missions based on other key areas after the D-Day.
A short video made by our new PR guys Eric Murphy. Enjoy!
Cool new improvements, will make gameplay alot more fluid
Much easier :D
can u still cook grenades and suicide bobm?
I don't think you can, in the view model for the grenade you hold the lever down after you pull the pin out - since the fuse won't be affected until that lever is released, there probably won't be any cooking. I'm not part of the team making this mod, however, so it may be changed in future.
Would be cool if the "special attack" key would cook the nade, and the regualr attack to decide the throw time and distance =).
The new systems we are currently developing will allow you to cook grenades if you wish. The system is brand new and is not in place at time of this video's making.
Really digging it so far. Hopefully you make some more of these. :D
well wat if u hold the fire button for like 20 seconds will it fly? or like after 10 seconds it will explode?
From what can be seen in the video, I think the grenade throwing implementation assumes that the avatar only pulls the safety pin and has not released the striker lever:
Science.howstuffworks.com
As I understand it, you only start cooking a grenade after the striker level is released and the chemical ignition has been activated.
With this in mind, what happens when you get shot after you pull the pin? Do you drop down dead and the grenade explodes after being let go? If so, does this count as friendly fire if your buddies are crowding around your dead body?
Granades take 5 seconds to explode I think...
3 actualy
3-5, its a chemical reaction, so its never precise.
Uhh, I'm not sure how well you payed attention in science class but controlled chemical reactions are VERY precise. Hand grenades would not be practical if soldiers couldn't accurately predict the fuse time...
Eh I don't know if you payed attention in history class but they were mass producing these things I doubt they made them to any accurate specification with the tools they were using.
Oh man, I can't wait!
I really like the new iron sight ;)
Hmm... I think you guys should include the old way of aiming, or at least a toggle version of the most zoomed in ironsight as well. Holding down a mousebutton when sniping gets old real quick.
I agree, but maybe they could implement both ways, this new one, but make the zoomed iron sight toggle also, as in when you hold it to zoom in, it will stay zoomed unless you press right mouse again, without having to hold it for more then a second. Best of both worlds!
Thats because the second stage iron sighting is suppost to simulate "concentrating". The old system didn't really give you this feel, since you could just scroll it, sit back, and have super human vision. This way, you strain to see further and closer down range.
"Machanics"?
Nop.. the grenade will explode in your hand if you hold it longer then 5 seconds
aw?
Nice
Yes yes! You nailed the iron aiming controls. Nicely done.
good grenade-controlling! like in vietcong :)
reminds me of bad company.
I think grenades shouldnt cook unless you press alt attack which pops the lever off the nade then you could cook
why doesnt anyone play this
Hey dudes! if you need someone for the city's names: im from lower normandy and i know many place on the littoral. =)
lol, 2:31 "Sieg Heil!"
some say this mod is like insurgency, though it was statisticly proven that resistance and liberation kicks 78.4% more *** then insurgency :D
cool it's like the aiming system in the ARMA games
I LOVE THE ANIMATIONS AND THE CAMERA OF THE GUN WHEN HES WALKING, REALLY GREAT IMPROVEMENT
ARMA weapon movement. I don't like it very much, tho. ;/
