String is a short little custom story made for Amnesia the Dark Decent. You play as Henry, an old king who returns to his once underground fortress. But he soon finds out that those he left behind have been waiting for him all these years. If he succeeds he might be forgiven.
Justine is required to play the mod, or else you will encounter alot of issues.

The String - 7 Years!
Hello everyone!
We've been getting a lot of questions recently and through the years so I wanted to address them here now.
Thanks for playing and sharing feedback, we do read them.
The String is now 7 years old and 3 months since release, time flies..
In hindsight I see not adding subtitles would become an issue for many, this is something I wanted to patch in but I ran into problems in implementing this and requiring more time thus aborted.
The focus was the art and design first, mainly to learn the tools, as we got further in we saw some potential for releasing this... and that is when it took on the form of becoming a mod. With that came a lot of extra work. A story had to be written that followed the levels we had close to completion. Hynik was working on a simple, but hopefully effective story to serve as the backdrop. The main thrill was always going to be the moment to moment gameplay, spooks and overall atmosphere.
Yet numerous dialogue and flashback sequences had to be recorded and placed. Looking back at the story, although simple, appears rather cryptic at times, yet a lot of you seemed to be able to follow it to its conclusion.
A lot of you have been asking for more stuff from us, and unfortuntely life has just been getting in the way. There might be more one day as the passion for modding and gaming is still there. When we do you can expect more bone chilling horror!

This mod had a good story and it was well designed. There were some problems though. Because of my decisions in this cs I didn't meet the monster even once. I only heard it do its noises and that is it. I also probably skipped a lot of parts by just rushing wherever I could but still got through the story. It was short and only took me 30 minutes to complete.
I'd give this story a 7.5/10

I finished this yesterday and maaauuuuun! Just the intro made me spooked out! And the story! And you got voice actors and stuff that was awesome! Short and sweet! A solid 10/10 in my book! Made a lil video if anyone is interested ^^ Youtube.com

An excellent custom story, with a unique storyline and plot. My only negative thoughts here are the lack of subtitles (making me unable to fully understand what was going on) and the length. I feel you could drag it up a bit more, and make a stunning piece. Don't get me wrong, your CS was awesome. I was just a bit disappointed at how little it lasted.
P.S. The guy who did the voice acting of Phillip totally rocked it to the stars. He is really good imo.
i was hoping to play tjis custom story for a long time, but it throw me aways that it doesn't have any kind of subtitle. Please add subtitles, not only native english speakers play this awesome game.

Maybe the developers of this mod doesn't note this fact...or maybe they do but think its for another reason.
But, seriously, why, with three thousand and more downloads, this mod only have fifty eight review?
Main reason could be non-community friendly players, but...to community friendly players from all around the world, the lack of subtitles draws us back. And, surely, there are more like me out there, that don't want to put a bad score in something that shows potential to be one of the greatest mods here.
And i almost sure, that the developer of this mod don't make it only to be played by 58 people out there.
So come on, guys! Subtitles are the only step away from world community.
This custom it comes to reflection, not scares , the mood tense because it is part of the game, the story seemed to me a little confused because hasnt subtitles for the audio , but it has a short and elaborate story . Beautiful graphics , very detailed and well positioned objects , ambiance is fantastic. The game is short, but I faced more like an experience than as a simple gambling.
I hope to see more mods from you--this was truly a fantastic Amnesia experience!
Ok, so:
I really enjoyed the story, but I won't post a review yet. The reason is, while I get a glimpse of the story, I don't understand it at all. I know english basics, but many times I didn't understand what was going on. If the story had subtitles, I'd definitely play it again and review it :)
Anyways, EXCELLENT map design, the dialogues and voices were pretty disturbing. You set a nice mood in the levels. By the moment, 8/10 because I don't get what is going on. If you make it with subtitles, I'll play it again, and, who knows... maybe it gets a 10/10.
