I'll update this soon so the vizier's ability to improve resurrection chances actually works , it seemed to be working on my version last time I checked it, but I think I hadn't actually implemented it onto the currently uploaded version properly back when I actually uploaded it)

Might be another mini update to this some time next month

So far (when it's ready / gets uploaded) the next new version should contain 1. the Pariah faction using their auxiliary troops (squad leaders) when played by the ai (kind-of working since yesterday). The campaign mission for the pariah stronghold should (hopefully) now have them use those auxiliary troops too (still need to test it), 2. an extra troop "Techno Zombies" (these add as leader auxiliaries for the Pariah's Attack scarabs, their armour piercing values are "reversed" with regards to troops/buildings , the zombies can't harm 'building_high' armour, but unlike attack scarabs they can effectively swarm commanders.
3. The next version should also have a new system for creating the Pariah Reeve(secondary commander) and possibly for the Centaur auxiliary too, Another new unit "Way Carver" will probably be added as well (and probably an auxiliary leader for the builder scarabs too)

4. I'm thinking of slightly re-doing the New Necron's current tech system, (probably a different secondary Fleet link for tier 3, replacing the way the obelisk currently works, adding a C'tan shard to the obelisk , some working Locust (and Heavy Locust) Destroyers (with new models and a new model for the Orphadean White), , and maybe I'll see about re-adding generators in some form (I'll try and get their versions of the other artefacts working too (especially their tabletop style Veil of Darkness [think of this one as working more like pools of deep-striking fog that jump the necron lord and some your troops to another part of the battlefield, rather than being a stealth field])
(I'm also going to try and get the other strongholds working for Necrons, and try to add 1 new territory to the MetaMap in between the Necron and chaos strongholds) (the new Necron stronghold will have to wait a little while longer, but I might try to adapt something from the necron mission in winter assault onto a far more labyrinthine battleground (with more necron units showing up) as a placeholder if it works)

By the way, I'll see about replacing the Fyrd King's voice later (and also removing the chaos lord dialogue bytes left in the models .whe), maybe in the next update (if I can get audio editor to work without crashing) (I actually made some new dialogue for him myself a while ago, but it needs adjusting to mimic Macabee's voice effects a little more closely, I have a few ideas for something else I might do instead/as well though depending what sounds better in the end)

Thanks for the support my friend 🙂 (I'm hoping to have another mini update for this and for the dark crusade mod ready to upload soon with a few more units added to each, next time this one's hopefully getting 'Necron Inheritors', 'Fyrd Liege' (secondary commander) and that 'Liberator' aircraft type thing from a while ago, 😅 and I'll hopefully update the listening post to the animated version of model at last)

By the way sorry to anyone waiting for my slow progress on these mods 😅, I know I made better versions of some of the models here or showed other units in screenshots, etc. in the past or mentioned other stuff in other unreleased versions, but this attempt is getting gradually closer to having those things implemented at last, I just need to try and avoid being too bogged down too soon, hence the little updates, so it isn't ending up as another discarded mess lying around full of unusable half done troops. (eventually, in a version or too everything currently here should be mostly ready to use and I'll have started on or semi-finished a lot more of the rest)

I have a semi worthwhile update for this which I made recently, I'll test it a little more and then I'll upload it, in the next version the Fyrd Raven actually works correctly (mostly) and there is finally a way to harvest enemy dead albeit a slightly convoluted one (invisible wraiths that can make enemy corpses compatible with the fyrd raven's harvest ability)

The tank armour thing is doable but could take someone a while to implement (it could involve changing potentially hundreds of weapon's (and ability's) worth of armour penetration values (for soulstorm anyway), and maybe altering some ai code too, but I'd maybe consider attempting it (the weapon part anyway) for the old pre winter assault dawn of war since it sounds kind of fun, (not sure what order the ai unit effectiveness fields things are actually in though so that would be somewhat guesswork there, but maybe doable with trial-and-error or if someone who knows explains the ai effectiveness table layout)), by the way there's been a dawn of war troop fallback mod on moddb since around 2006 (not sure if it's the same or not as the fallback win condition one from dow files) Moddb.com

I was initially planning to use a version of this as a stand-in for a Pariah Campaign mission, but with a few adjustments it seemed to make a nice multiplayer map, moreover it gave me an idea for another dark crusade mod I might make in future :)

Mostly I'd advise downloading this one only if you want the models to use for something, I might update it some day though, there was another version somewhere I made that I wanted to combine it with, if I can find that other one or if I get around to re-making it I'll see about folding it into this version and uploading it.

I'm probably going to keep gradually updating from this one until it has some more of the other units the unreleased "failed versions" were originally going to include; e.g. Husks and the Outsider, I'll probably add a Manifestation of the Void Dragon to the Thane too (based a little on the recent tabletop version of his shard)

I've noticed this version doesn't have the slight beacon fix from the older "UA duel release" version, I'll bring that in and see if I can fix the thane not playing it's shooting animation and then release a version 1.6f (and I'll probably swap that trail fx on the air scarabs for the fleet of foot trail fx or something)

Sorry I didn't reply back then, in theory this mod was only for soulstorm (there were a few unreleased dark crusade versions that didn't add as much (mainly just macabee) one successor to this mod does have an unfinished dark crusade release though Moddb.com (the one in the link adds yet another different version of macabee to dark crusade, and separates the dark crusade and winter assault necrons into two independent factions)

Thanks for the feedback :) , I really appreciate it, I still haven't come close to finishing either race but I agree these necrons have some issues early game, (thanks for confirming for me that it becomes a bigger problem on higher difficulties) , (I think the pariah faction still doesn't really add much yet, but if I can get around to it, then hopefully there'll be a lot more troop options for them and more stuff for the necron faction too (the trick with these necrons is to use the orphadean flenser mercenaries as ambush troops, keep them in reserve and drop them directly from the fleet-link onto any enemy squads which you encounter, then send them from the hq back up to the fleet link, I think another way of dealing with enemy scouts early game was that the full set of scarabs can be made to attack a target together (each one can deal up to 3 attack scarabs worth of damage, so all together they can semi-reliably swarm enemy scouting troops in an emergency)) (I'm not sure what makes the warbarque get stuck either but I also encountered this problem once ore twice) , I'll see if there's some way of stopping the buildings from going on top of incomplete structures, too :) (I intended for the player to use the warbarques as transports for their troops, stop and unload them when they encounter enemies, then reload into the warbarques and continue) (by the way, try the campaign if you didn't already, necrons and pariahs are both independently selectable, with their own starting locations, necrons don't have a proper stronghold map yet though, but you can play as them to fight against the chaos stronghold, and possibly the ork stronghold too (I think I probably didn't setup the other strongholds yet)

(also thanks for reminding me, the other necron artefacts are coming soon, I need to get them ready, veil of darkness for example will work more like in tabletop, letting 2 squads come with the necron lord and be dropped into combat when needed (a little invulnerable portal type thing will follow the necron lord around basically, similarly resurrection orb will be automatic but have relatively closer range, again to be more like the 3rd edition tabletop version))

I admire your work my friend :) , please avoid letting others drag you down, you already produce a greater volume of contributions than I do, ( I just make/edit a few (usually unfinished) things and then I disappear for ages, so if I'm considered useful or a good modder than you must be those things too, plus at least you can finish what you start :) (me and a lot of others have all left a lot of incomplete stuff floating around for years waiting for us to return to it) (plus being able to edit the ui like you do is quite impressive, not many other modders can do that or have the dedication/patience required for it)
