3.X full release
Install the mod into your main Dow II retribution folder.
Readme file included with Credits and instructions.
Run either with Astartes.bat, or go to your Steam, go to Retribution, go to Properties, set launch options as "-modname Astartes" ,without the ""s.
I recommend setting graphics to Ultra high before installing or mod may crash on space marines. Races , tactics, and units: Space marines heroes all have a separate race attached.
Chapter commander is Adeptus Astartes, unlocking the contemporary 40k Space marines.
Legion commander is Legiones Astartes, unlocking the 30k era late Great Crusade Space marines.
Grey Knights commander is Daemonhunters, unlocking the Grey Knights.
IG heroes are the same: Cadian commander unlocks the standard IG.
Krieg commander unlocks the Krieg IG. Not suppressible, but fire slower if more powefully with their lasguns.
Tau commander: Tau race, similar a bit to IG. Very weak in melee, but good at range with plasma weapon
Install the mod into your main Dow II retribution folder.
Last stand and campaign does not work with this mod. UCS files may conflict between Elite, Codex and Astartes mods, if you want to use both you'll need to move ucs files for each mod and add them whenever you play them to Gameassets/Locale/English.
This is the Final Primaris marine containing release, and so far the finished variant of the mod. Other two variants will be an Oldhammer variant and a variant with no unit limits for IronGaming.
Step 1: Set your textures and models in game to highest, though setting it to the maximum graphical settings is recommended.
Step 2: Unzip the mod into your Retribution main folder. If installed correctly, Retribution main folder should have Folder Astartes, Astartes.module and 2 Astartes.bat files. One of the bat is for Steam, the other starts the game directly.
Check the Performance_Stability_Mod folder, read the readmes and apply crashfix from there. Make a backup of effected files from dow2 main folder first. D3D9.dll requires a good graphics card to use, not recommended for older pcs and laptops.
Recommended that you set the framerate to 58 and do not run youtube or media players like it or windows media player in the background, as that can trigger a non-mod related crash bug.
Superheavy and Horus Heresy tanks edition, limits lessened on some elites. Fellblade, Falchion, Glaive, Spartans, Typhons, Cerberuses, Scorpions, Lynxes, Cobras and Voidspinners, as well as IG artillery and even rarer Heresy Era tanks stand ready to do even bigger battles than before.

Check Tutorials on this page for guide to where to find new units and how to use the races.

Thanks for the update! Does this mod conflict with other mods like Elite and Codex?
The UCS files may conflict.
Back up your ucs files in the folder down:
Dawn of War II - Retribution\GameAssets\Locale\English
You just need to have 3 backups of each mods localisation, and switch them as you wish.
Appreciate it! Where do I place the backup for the UCS files? In the retribution folder, or?
Any folder you wish, best if it is outside dow2 folder alltogether.
Thanks!
Great mod, but it has some problems I've noticed that if fixed would be really nice:
Imperial guard bunkers and nid buildings being call-ins make the AI spam them all over the place but never actually use them, this eventually builds up until they break pathfinding and basically ends the match.
The AI really likes spamming tier 1 vehicles and vehicles in general, fighting against chaos or space marines is 50% fighting against Rhino's and 50% fighting against the rest of their roster
Chaos AI never seems to tech up, I don't know if this is just me being unlucky or an actual problem.
I can't seem to code in any way to stop the AI from spamming buildings, whenever its build them or just summon them.
AI needs a specific AI coder that I do not have, so I'm not sure what's wrong with it.
I'll be going on a hiatus as I don't care for Games workshop very much these days, I'll make a primaris-free 6th edition variant and than likely take a break from Warhammer 40k.
