Rise of the Triad started out as an add-on to Wolfenstein 3D. The first beta version was based on the Wolfenstein 3D engine and in the final version of Rise of the Triad (with it's own engine) you can clearly see the roots of the Wolfenstein 3D engine. This is a modification of Wolfenstein 3D which has been inspired by the original RoTT spec.

I was searching around to see if the actual alpha / beta existed in playable form and found this. Very cool!

I like that you chose to use the old engine, runs good on my Pentium 133 laptop under DOS 6.22.

This is a cool idea, but you should use Wolf4sdl engine instead of the old DOS version. Not only for the compatibilities (which gives more fps by the way), but you can use 128x128 textures which is more close to rott textures resolution, so you dont lose too much quality, also you can use the rott palette if any, as many others rottĀ“s resources. Man, you can have a very good mod in hands if you take this project more seriously like "making wolfenstein 3d II" as rott was intended to be before apogee change his mind...huge error if anyone ask me ...

Anyway, cool mod.
