Kingdoms is the most content-rich expansion ever produced for a Total War game, with four new entire campaigns centered on expanded maps of the British Isles, Teutonic Northern Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas.
In Medieval II, you were only given a tantalizing glimpse of South America, but in Kingdoms, vast tracts of land in both North and South America have been opened up for you to conquer.
All-new factions from the New World are also now fully playable, including the Aztecs, Apaches, and Mayans.
Omens of War Patch
After nearly eighteen months of development, our final multiplayer-focused patch has arrived! As has been the case with previous patches, this is geared towards MP play, BUT it will also come with the first sketches of a campaign! The campaign is technically playable, but lacking in scripts and needs a lot of work before it is complete. However, you can enjoy it as a sandbox!
In addition, we have also gotten our Battle Editor back up and functional, allowing for scenarios to be made, some of which we have included. These are historical battles, complete with descriptions, images, and some helpful rules and guidelines to help you recreate these events.
Now on to the main event! Some of the changes you can expect to see in the multiplayer side of things are:
• A total stat overhaul for all factions that better incorporates all of the new traits, maps, and units into a uniform system. These include nerfs to speed and range of certain Dwarven units, removal of AP to axe shock troops across the board, small buffs to Ulfang armor and reductions in cost. You can find a more detailed summary of the overhaul below.
• Additional maps created by Stewie, Rex, and Jmonster
• Brand new human faction, Dor Cuarthol, the realm of Turin and Beleg.
• Maiar units with special abilities, complete with unique visual effects and flying ability.
• Various new units across factions, as well as changes to existing ones, such as unit sizes, detachments, artillery, artillery crews, chariots, and monsters. Fixed the floating driver for chariots, as well as the size of the vehicle.
• Changes to certain AoE attacks from projectiles.
• New skins for various units, as well as complete visual overhauls for certain factions, provided by Stewie
• Fixed various description errors
