Magisterium is a multiplayer first person shooter that takes the multiplayer experience and introduces a stronger player agency (the ability of the player to affect the world in meaningful ways). This is achieved in several ways.
a. large scale battles with multiple objectives each driven by player actions.b. Drop in drop out battles taking anywhere from 10 hours to 3 days within which multiple independent skirmishes occur.
c. A sequential map system that moves the player through the game depending on previous victories and losses. This means if your side looses a battle the next map you play will be based off that world state.
d. Every map has several big objectives and random minor objectives that occurred at infrequent intervals. However players will be able to set objectives for there team mates to follow allowing for stronger interaction between teammates and a different play-experience every play-through.
The two opposing sides in magisterium are the Promethieans and the Mages. The promethieans are a advanced technological civilization and mages are a civilization based around magic this leads to dramatically diferant play-styles The Promethieans play more like a traditional fps while the mages play more in line with an rpg. The perk system for the mages grants you access to new spells while for the promethieans it gives you access to new weapon variants armor and equipment.
Hard Drive failure has caused a total freeze in development until i can get a new one. I have backed up all the work to date however without a computer to work on that's meaningless. Due in part to a complete and utter lack of funding development will not resume for another 2 to 4 months pushing the beta back 3 to5 months.
Yet another week in development. This week Massive city work showing off the first map Beta information
This was an extremely productive and eventful week involving flying mage ships and massive Hovering battleships of the prometheans.
In this update I'm giving y'all a general understanding of the current state of the game and ways to keep track of progress in real time using Twitter...
Stick this into Desura...
I'll bet the funds 'll roll in soon after.
Its design also isn't very friendly to the public alpha model as its heavily dependent on stats being carried over.
Just rethought that and i have a model that will make it work.
Thanks
I believe there is a pre-alpha funding as well (Looking at Project Zomboid and Overgrowth before they even had an official alpha build to play...)
that's what im doing. It should be up in about a week.
hmm
your marketing could use some work
the problem is
you didnt make a good video
showing the game is important
but you must show them you
the person behind this project
i have study kick starter games to indie go go
that ones that reach there goals
are the ones that show the person behind the project
people fund the ones they like, and ones with good personality. thats all you need. i wish you luck my friend
thanks i'll do that
STUNNING. cant wait for this!
Its probably going to take another 6 months to go to beta as im the only one working on it and cant seem to get any funding to bring on more people.
i really like what you doing continue like that
thanks and a side note I'm a huge Stargate fan so love what y'all are doing in SNL.
