Thus, I provide an honest demo for you. The demo version will update all the way till a certain story is finished.

It reflects the current stage of game development in almost real-time.

If you find the game stopped updating for more than 14 days without any explanation, it's safe to assume I'm dead.

In that case, do not buy the game.

As the game is one of the first and last RMXP games that's ever been developed, I'm not exactly aiming to make it something great. (or even sane.)

Instead, it needs to be unique and fun in a way that people can rarely see nowadays, to make people laugh maniacally even in a grimdark world where both the in-game world and the life circle of RMXP are coming to an end.

Welcome to our secret society of [redacted]. We are among the most ancient ones in our line of work.

For a long time, we have witnessed the rise and fall of many others.

The situation is grim, the world almost ended in 2008, 2012, 2015, and 2020.

Some people predict it will keep ending this year, next year, and the year after.

But, well, even if that's true, even if the ending is inevitable, it is tragic, we are still alive.

So, cheer up! We shall carry on.

As long as we stand, the world shall never fall!

It's the first Neolithic game with English localization that comes to Steam since 2004 when the first game of Neolithic was published in a dark corner of China.

Compared to a commercial game, this is more like a memento to the old golden age of RPG Maker XP (when indie games are really indie; when updates are free instead of being paid DLCs; when developers update games for years, even decades instead of abandon projects as soon as it's no longer profitable; when games are made with passion instead of money-hunger; And, when RPG Maker was not used to just make those cheap adult-only games.)

There are many games out there, made with modern tools and more than 1 developer. They are supposed to be better than mine.

Hi, everyone. Welcome to another week's developer's diary.

First of all. Something for the Pride Month.


We now have 6 genders in the game. (Previously we had 4. 2 were added last year as gender and appearance were made no longer linked together.) Now we have non-binary genders and NPCs shall correctly address a character of non-binary gender as "they," "them," "Mx." and words as such.
In addition to customizing your main character and any customized teammates like this, you can now also find a new potion sold by various caretaker members. They can allow you to change the gender of your pet at will. All those gender changes may have some minor impacts on different parts of the game. Such as some NPCs' attributes to you. But what is most important is you can be anyone you want to be. You can be your true self. Have fun! :)

Now, let's go down to the major story update of this week.
The story content in the Psychedelic Cave takes an even wider turn. You can now have access to the deepest level. On that level, you may find something that you may not expect.


You will also find that you are not the first one who comes down this deep.
The Foundation was here and the documents of an anomaly are all over the place.
Yes, one anomaly and multiple conflicted documents, each one brings more horror than another.
You can also discover the fate of their expedition force.
As the story has a lot of connections with other parts of the game, I am not going to spoil it too much here.


Will you serve one eldritch horror just so that you can fight off another?
Well, at least, there are not many places you can lose your sanity down here.

Meanwhile, thanks to those who come before, traversing the Psychedelic Cave now become a bit easier. Even if you don't have The Seal of Pilz'qar, the Foundation has set up signal beacons on each floor to tell how deep you are in the cave. They are also coincidently all placed very close to the exits so that at least you can always know a way out. Meanwhile, if you follow the corpses left behind by something malicious you can find a way to go deeper and deeper so that you can always relatively easily reach the deepest level.

But what comes afterward when you learn the truth?
For one, as mentioned above, you can help a certain not-so-hostile faction. (They will appear on your relationship menu so that you can know their attitudes to you.)
On the other hand, you can also try to stop someone from unintentionally spreading the influence of such horror. You can achieve that by persuasion or by force. Your teammates will react accordingly if they are presented.
