Team Sabre Operations is an enhancement mod for Delta Force Black Hawk Down and its Team Sabre expansion. It's meant to fix and improve the stock game's sounds, art style and gameplay. It also provides additional content for map makers in order to expand the original experience.
The full release of Delta Force: Team Sabre Operations version 0.9.1. Updated April 1st, 2024.
Delta Force: Team Sabre Operations is provided via an executable installer. The mod requires a proper installation of Delta Force Black Hawk Down + Team Sabre. It should be compatible with GOG's digital version, NovaLogic's digital version and with the Retail CD-ROM version, as long as it is patched to the latest v1.5.0.5 and it includes the Team Sabre expansion.
The custom installer will attempt to locate your installation of DFBHD/TS automatically. Make sure that it points to the correct directory. Proper links to run the mod and the mission editors are created by the installer.
Make sure to read the included ReadMe file if you experience issues in running the mod and/or the original game on your system. Be sure to have enabled DirectPlay features on your Windows OS.
24/12/23 Changelog:
* Items:
- Altered running and jogging animations for characters.
- Added more than 150 new items (vehicles, decorations, buildings) for map makers, mainly conversions from Delta Force 1 and Comanche 4.
- Resized certain texture bits of the Mogadishu City Block items, in order to fix UV mapping issues.
- Reworked HP stats for many items and damage values for weapons in order to improve realism.
- Reskinned SP and MP characters for better colors, camos and details.
* Multiplayer:
- Fully converted all additional multiplayer maps from the Xbox version of the game; 13 Deathmatch maps (Arena, Boot Camp, Boot Camp X, Burn, Minefield, Park, Site, Trenches, Tunnel, Courtyard, Crash X, Dock X, Island X) and 1 Team Deathmatch map (Siege).
- Added Team Deathmatch maps converted from the beta demos of the game and using beta assets included in the mod (TDMBD_01 and TDMBD_04 from beta v0.0.1 named City Limits A and City Limits B, TDMM_01c and TDMM_01d from beta v0.0.3 named Night Limits A and Night Limits B).
- Fixed all stock King of the Hill BHD maps not having a proper name (KOTH was not part of the original game, maps existed for it but they were using the internal filenames, now they are named like their other game modes' counterparts).
- Removed TKHR_04 map from Team King of the Hill (it was included by mistake by the Team Sabre expansion, it's an older duplicate of Oil Island).
- Fixed all TS multiplayer maps not having a proper name (TKHR_ts02 has been renamed arbitrarily to Night Jungle as no official name exists for it).
- Fixed TS Flag Ball maps having incorrect names (B versions were still named A, for instance Oil Island B appeared as Oil Island A).
- Fixed duplicate TKHR_ts02 map in Team King of the Hill (the duplicate was meant to appear in Team Deathmatch, now it is so).
- Created B versions of the Ruination and TKHR_ts02 (now Night Jungle) maps. Fixed flag colors in the Capture the Flag and Flag Ball game modes.
* Weapons:
- Fixed data for the M14, ammo was resetting when switching firing mode; faster switching betweem Semi and Auto.
- Added AKM weapon with own stats, sounds and animations (3d model borrowed from the Insurgency mod).
- Reskinned smoke grenade to be more realistic and changed its effect to produce red smoke.
- Reskinned frag grenade in order to fix a long standing UV mapping issue.
6/1/24 Changelog:
- Recompiled installer with Inno Setup 5 for compatibility with Windows XP.
- Removed DXVK graphics wrapper, it's up to the user to install one if the game doesn't work (the mod is unrelated to the game's functionality).
- Packed multiplayer maps TDMBD_01, TDMBD_04, TDMM_01c and TDMM_01d (namely City Limits and Night Limits) into the mod's PFF archive (they are not compatible with the stock game).
1/4/2024 Changelog:
- Fixed WAC script for the River Raid mission, it was broken due to using the WAC scripts of the Xbox version of the map.
- Restored cut in-game voiceovers for the River Raid mission, now it features more dialogue and a speaking informant.
- Improved HP values of the motorized river boat; the M136 AT4 can destroy it in one hit, just like in the stock game.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Will this work on Windows 11 x64?
A: The game shouldn't work on current systems without the use of a graphics wrapper. I suggest downloading and configuring Dege's dgVoodoo2 wrapper, which makes the game more compatible on current hardware. More informations on the wrapper at the following links: Github.com and Dege.freeweb.hu
Q: Will this work on Windows XP and older?
A: The game and the mod should work just fine on legacy hardware and/or operating systems. If custom video resolutions are not desired, it is suggested to remove the included dinput8.dll file.
Q: Can I run the game with widescreen resolution and custom FOV?
A: Yes, you can. You should edit the BHD_Asi.ini file inside the Scripts folder to your likings. More informations on SuiMachine's wrapper at the following link: Github.com
Q: I am using a custom widescreen resolution but when I aim down the sights or when I set NVGs on, everything looks stretched.
A: The included widescreen wrapper currently does not fix the resolution for when NVGs are on, nor it properly scales the 2d iron sight and HUD textures.
For anyone asking about widescreen resolution support, please read the included ReadMe file of the mod, it's all in there.
I know it would be difficult but it would be nice if some reverse engineers would find the location in memory that controls SERVER TICK RATE. Novaworld games are ran at 10 HZ. Someone should find and raise it to the LAN TICK RATE which must be much higher. No more choppy netcode from 2003!
