With the release of this project, after this, SourceWorld is gonna be my last modding project, and afterwards I will retire from the modding scene unfortunately. Not a choice I made easily, however this is a hobby that takes a lot of time, brain squishing and patience, and with my current time, I'm far from having free time into pouring my time into this hobby anymore unfortunately.

Radical Problems officially reached about 6 years of development since this project has started,
all the way back in 9th September 2018 when I started this project in early stage after trashing a Opposing Force mod I've been attempting at making.

Radical Problems simply started off as a map testing to learn further more about Half-Life 1 capabilities and its entities and the way works and the limitations, upon reaching a certain point with this testing map, I realized that this testing map could be expanded and made into far mode, with still little logic knowledge for the way Half-Life 1 works, but I learned on the long run how to map and use the logics of Half-Life 1.

Essentially, I started everything from 0, trashed the first 3 test maps which were already starting in a resonance cascade and started on doing the train section, the same train section which ended up in the final release, my only regrets with this section is not being able to show more of the outside areas of the compound like other mods have,
speaking of other mods, at the end of the day, this mod took inspiration from Residual Point and Residual Life, in some categories to say so at least, they looked great to me when I played them as a kid and simply loved the mapping and the enemies, so I had this desire of "Hey, I want something unique too!" something that sets my mod apart from the others, something that might end up be remembered... Something.

I had a dream, once, when I was a child, wishing to make my own story and all, my own level design, my own story, my own idea, so here I am, I started off with Half-Life 2, then ended up down on Half-Life 1 somehow, but I had fun. Despite the lack of motivation sometimes, or no ideas, I am rather happy releasing it the way it is than not releasing it at all.

Congrats to your release, I will definitely play it although I don't know yet when I will find the time for it.

Reading you article really reminded me of my modding times. Having worked on a project for about 3 years was also exhausting back then and I can fully understand the wish to tell your own story / create your own episode and still running into issues with the motivation. Happy for you it worked out :)

Also nice to see you also re-built a section of Blue Shift - exactly the same section I also re-created for my mod many years ago.

I recall seeing mods before using the blue shift section of this in particular but I couldn't remember for the love of hod what mods were, and I think it was your mod I played that it had this section, I need to check it out some time.

Thanks for everything stated above, I love modding, but yeah... Takes way too much time unfortunately, at worst there are others who release only a mod or plan to release one and they just vanish out of existence with the mod left behind as TBD, unfortunate fates...

I will give your mod and check to confirm if it was yours II remember long time ago.
