There are 70 spells in Heroes 3 and at least half of them are always ignored, in favor of spells that are overall stronger or more efficient, but just as easy (or easier) to access.
This mod aims to rectify this and make as many spells desirable to use, at least at the stage of the game when you are expected to get them.
This is done by changing their level mostly, recalculating mana costs for said levels, and in some cases by buffing their effect a little, to narrow the gap between them.


CHANGES:

* Inferno's Castle Gate building cost decreased to 5000 gold, instead of 10000.
* Rampart's Fountain of Fortune building cost decreased to 500 gold and 10 crystals, from 1500 gold and 10 crystals.
* Rampart's Mystic Pond building cost increased to 3000 gold and 2 of each resource, from 2000 gold and 2 of each resource. Also, its description has been changed to specify the number and type of resource it grants.
* Dungeon's Mana Vortex building cost increased to 2000 gold, from 1000 gold. Also, its description has been changed to include its "once per week, prioritizing garrison hero" functionality.
* Dungeon's Portal of Summoning building cost decreased to 1500 gold and 5 ore, from 2500 gold and 5 ore. Also, its description has been changed to specify that the available creature randomly changes each week.
* Dungeon's Battle Scholar Academy, Tower's Library, Tower's Lookout Tower and Necropolis' Cover of Darkness building description have been clarified with specifics.
* Artifact Merchants and Stronghold's Freelancer Guild building description changed to include its "better rates with more Marketplaces" functionality.
* Necropolis' Skeleton Transformer building description changed to include its "turns Dragons, Hydras or Sea Serpents into Bone Dragons instead" functionality.

* First Aid Tent HP increased to 300, from 75.
* Ballista now deals 3-5 base damage instead of 2-3.

* Visions is now only Water Magic, instead on all magic schools.
* Protection from Air/Earth/Fire/Water spells have been renamed to Air/Earth/Fire/Water Protection.
* Mirth, Sorrow, Fortune and Misfortune modify morale/luck by 2/2/3/3, instead of 1/1/2/2.
* Earthquake damages 1/1/2/3 sections of wall instead of 2/2/3/4 (equalizes it with the Ballistics skill).
* Flat damage for Ice Bolt was increased to 20/20/30/60, from 10/10/20/50 (+10 compared to Lightning Bolt, but same worse scaling).
* Scaled Damage for Frost Ring and Fireball was increased to SP * 15, from SP * 10.
* Scaled Damage for Inferno was increased to SP * 20, from SP * 10.
* Hypnotize now controls (SP * 25) + 50/50/100/200 instead of 10/10/20/50.
* Magic Mirror now reflects 35/35/50/65% of the time, instead of 20/20/30/40%.
* Dimension Door can be cast 2/2/4/4 times per hero, instead of 1/2/3/4.

* Each spell has a mostly equal chance of appearing in any Magic Guild (excluding restrictions), except direct damage spells, which have twice the chance compared to other spells.
* Spell levels and mana costs have been rebalanced/streamlined to better fit their usefulness and theme at each level (see new values below):

COMPATIBILITY:

Make sure you have Heroes 3 Complete + HD mod + HOTA mod installed before installing my mod, and DON'T UPDATE AFTER TTHIS. If you do, you need to reinstall this mod.
It should be compatible with any versions of Heroes 3 Complete, HD and HOTA up to and including 2023, and possibly more recent ones.
If playing with friends, make sure all of you have this mod installed, otherwise you will experience many issues.


INSTALL:

Extract archive contents to root folder, overriding any files. That's it.
You can uninstall it by restoring the backups you made of the files that were overritten (you made backups, right?).


FINAL NOTES:

Everyone has their own opinion about how the game can be improved, and this mod reflects mine, to the extent of my modding ability. I am aware of the gameplay ramifications some of these changes have and I believe them to be overall positive.
Also, if you plan on using parts of this mod in your own mod, please give credit.
