Across the top of the image is the faction leader screen showing the character trait thats assigned to trigger the revolution. Next to that is the historical event pop up screen then next to that is the faction leader screen after the revolution.

Since its not possible to change the faction leader or faction name we instead assign an ancillary agent that represents the correct faction leader and a trait that shows the name of the new government body that controls the faction post revolution, in this case its Mustafa Kemal and the Government of the Grand National Assembly.

Full Event Text

On October 30 1918, the Treaty of Mudros was signed by the Ottoman Empire and the Entente Powers, ending the Middle-Eastern theatre of the conflict. Per the terms of the treaty, Entente troops from the British Commonwealth, France, Italy, and Greece immediately occupied the Dardanelles Strait and Constantinople itself, and had the authority to occupy any lands at will if they felt there was a threat to international security.

By late November, Entente troops had moved to occupy nearly every major city in the crumbling Ottoman realm, but the Turkish people were far from ready to accept the rapid changes; as early as December 19, French troops in Southern Anatolia faced organized resistance from Turkish nationalist forces.

As the Paris Peace Conference got underway in January 1919, however, the victorious powers began staking their claims on the already humiliated Ottoman Empire. The occupation of the Dardanelles and Constantinople grew in size and scope, and an intense rivalry between Italy and Greece led to a rush for the contested Western coast of Anatolia and its offshore islands.

Determined to beat the Italians there, the Greeks landed several thousand troops in Smyrna, only to face determined resistance from hastily assembled Turkish troops. Indeed, all across the former Ottoman realm the occupying forces faced similar challenges as Ottoman forces, disobeying orders to demobilize, began to fight back.

In May, veteran commander and hero of Gallipoli Mustafa Kemal Pasha returned from temporary exile to revive the Turkish Nationalist Movement. CUP leaders, forced to flee Constantinople in the wake of Mudros and the subsequent political revolutions across the empire, flocked to Kemal Pasha's banner, followed by thousands of officers and soldiers eager to avenge their defeat.

By the beginning of 1920, the Entente powers increased their occupying forces substantially, sending tens of thousands more troops into Anatolia to help restore order; for Britain it was a matter of ending the conflict, but for France and Greece in particular, there were still unresolved territorial disputes to attend to.

Starting in late 1920, the Bolsheviks began sending military and economic assistance to the Turkish forces, intent on reducing the ability of the Entente to intervene in the ongoing civil war in Russia. After several years of fighting, Kemal Pasha's Turks managed to push back the occupying European forces on all fronts, with the most bitter fighting taking place against the Greeks in central Anatolia.

Eager to avoid further conflict and to finally get all of their men home, the British agreed to end their occupation of the Dardanelles and to host peace talks between the Turkish nationalists and European powers. In October 1922, an armistice was signed, granting Turkish claims to the disputed lands of Eastern Thrace and Smyrna.

The terms were finalized in November at the Lausanne Conference, confirming British and French control of the mandates in Syria, Iraq, and Palestine but otherwise guaranteeing Turkish sovereignty in Anatolia and Thrace. The Republic of Turkey was declared upon the conclusion of the treaty in July 1923, ending the last major unresolved conflict to spawn from the halls of Versailles.
