There are several successful and failed mods using fallout art and Fonline engine.

What makes this one different from the others is that this dev at least makes the effort to change things up in terms of gameplay, there are more options in terms of character creation and choosing perks etc...

while the others have remained stagnant since the late 90's, slowly losing player base as the boomer population dies off from heart disease, diabetes and tiny Benis syndrome.

There are unfortunately ingrained, rotten to the core aspects in which the game is played but this cannot be attributed to the Game's maker but to long standing traditions found in all servers of this incredibly small population.

Until improvements are made to other servers (Which apparently take as long at this point as the longest development of a Triple A title and is STILL waiting to be completed) this is one of the better choices as it is more dynamic, interesting and evolves with some consideration given to the thoughts of players (not much). While still maintaining most of the game feel of the original games.

In either case, the benefit, for me at least, is enjoying the delicious salty nerd tears that flow, either from game play or from drama between the various mod communities based on Fallout 1 & 2.
