This week I worked on giving a visual upgrade to the battering ram map for the 5th Mission.

Salutations,

This week I worked on improving the map used for the battering ram level.

Here's a zoomed out view of the entire map

As you can see, quite a bit has changed. There's now a decently wide road between the castle and the outside world. There's a ditch protecting the castle now - and a small bridge which should make it more interesting to defend.

Additionally, the two smaller, out of place looking towers have been replaced with a goblin pit - which will summon goblins to fight you.

I also worked on what happens when the ram reaches the gates. At that point it will stop moving, and start hammering at the gate for a short while

Similar to the movement phase, if goblins get into the circle whilst the ram is attacking the gate, it will stop. But once it's there for long enough (10 seconds at the moment, but still have to balance it) - the gates will open and the player is free to continue his assault on the fortress - leading to the second map - the courtyard - which I've shown a while ago.

So that about wraps it up for this week. I still have to finalise the gate destroyed functionality, and after that, I'll work on some technical aspects - tying the maps together and getting the upgrades to work properly.

Til then
