ERENSHOR, A “SIMULATED” MMORPG, UNVEILS UNIQUE WORLD LOCATIONS AND COMBAT ENCOUNTERS

Erenshor a “Simulated MMORPG” where players can enjoy all of the common MMORPG mechanics, progressions, and challenges, but on their own time. Every other player on the server is run by varying levels of AI (not generative!) and will group with the player, invite the player to events, and even buy and sell items in the in-game auction house. Recently, Brian over at Burgee Media has captured some raw footage of two different styles of combat in Erenshor, and he wants to share them with you!

  • Astra, the Rogue of the Stars is a higher end “Gear Check” encounter for groups. Astra is a bit of a gatekeeper to late game and raiding content. If you can’t get past her, you don’t have what it takes to step into a raid zone!

Capture

  • The Fungal Lord is a dungeon boss in the Abyssal Caves, and his fight tests you and your party’s ability to pay attention. He’ll spawn poison clouds around his arena, and they do big damage. If you’re in a cloud, your tank needs to move him!

Capture 1

Burgee Media also has some more exciting updates! New, in-development environments in Erenshor are ready to be shown.

  • Ripper’s Keep stands above a small village of Ripper’s supporters. Ripper broke off from the Azure Guard and started a small rebellion. Ripper’s forces reside in that distant keep, which was obtained by force against the faction that had previously held it. Will you hear Ripper out? Or will you go sword-swinging?
  • The Blight is a small corner of the world that has been cursed by an unholy ritual-gone-wrong. The inhabitants here are twisted and Godless. No deity claims this place for their own, but the secrets it holds might just be worth exploring.
  • The Abyssal Caves sit quietly below the Abyssal Lake, where some of the water flows from the lake above and creates a subterranean pond below. It is filled with exotic fungus, strange creatures, and a few other things waiting to be discovered.
  • Rottenfoot is a swampy forest that serves as the unofficial border between civilized Port Azure and the uncivilized North. Rumors of unholy soldiers roaming the swamps swirl in Port Azure, and citizens are advised to stay away.

Erenshor is slated for a Q4 2024 or Q1 2025 early access release, and will be looking for playtesters in the near future.

Erenshor can be wishlisted on Steam alongside a free playable demo!

Join Burgee Media’s official Discord server to be kept in the loop on future content and updates!

In the fall, Burgee Media plans to feature Erenshor in the October 2024 edition of Steam “Next Fest”. The “Next Fest'' demo will contain a twist - an ongoing ‘Spooky GM Event’ on the demo island, where prizes will include special in-game items, including hidden “Golden Tickets” which will grant their first finders a Steam Key to the full, in-development build of Erenshor.

As for access to the full game, an Early Access steam release is planned with a goal of ‘late 2024, or early 2025’ but Developer Burgee Media states that that date is a moving target.

What is Erenshor?

Erenshor is a single player RPG where the player plays inside of a simulated MMORPG that offers unrestricted exploration, strategic battles, and countless weapons, armors, and spells to discover. After two years of prototyping, Erenshor has joined the current top 1300 most wishlisted games on steam!

You'll hunt monsters, complete quests, and explore the lore of the world. Each upgraded item will bring tangible increases in power, and soon the unwavering foes before you will be pushed aside, revealing a challenge even greater.

Just like the MMORPGs in the late 2000s, players will be able to group with (Simulated) Players who will do dungeons, quests, or world bosses! They will level independently at varying rates, get their own equipment, and do their own quests. Some simulated players will even make or join guilds that the player could join, if liked enough.

Brian "Burgee" has always been a fan of game development. Starting with DOOM in 1996 at age 11, he spent more time making levels for games than actually playing them. Working on everything from 3D shooters, to RPG Maker, to GameMaker Studio, Burgee Media released its first stand alone commercial title in 2017 and hasn't looked back since.
