Pretty good. I don't recall the demo having mercenaries or hidden corpses with rare weapons, it's a nice addition and adds some replay value. The biggest thing I'd say the freeplay mode lacks is a way to restore stamina quicker. Though, maybe that's intentional to mask enemy spawns.
For the story mode, I liked the Forester secret and being able to make it to the Hospital with a skill jump even if it doesn't change anything in the end. The story itself is nice too.
If this ever gets another update, something should be done with the armoury in the sports hall, In the demo, I broke the door open with the weapon exploit but it was the same as it was in CoC to no surprise.

Upon clicking New Game and pressing Start, the game loads for a few seconds, up until around Rooms and tabs out with the error message "Failed to load Animated Texture: "GFX\SL_monitors.png"", trying to tab back into the game only displays a black screen. I checked the files and SL_monitors.png is the video feeds you see around the facility that pan around or display 173 on them. I'm assuming it fails to load them because this is in png format, not gif or what have you. Tried messing around with graphics settings to no avail. Mod version is Reborn.

Yeah, I was pretty much set for life after I did all the tasks in Warehouses, since you can't take both the Merc and Freedom villagers task from Voronin at the same time I took the merc camp one (you can take the merc camp task from both Petrenko and Voronin at the same time to get both the rewards for doing it only once, not sure if that's a feature or bug :)) and held off on wiping out the village Freedomers for my second "business trip" to the warehouses. It's probably getting tiring answering all my questions by now but how come you can't sell 90% of the new weapons (or the makarovs and bandit jacket for some reason) to most of the traders? Is it just some unfixable bug from the original mod or was it so players can't get rich quick before they reach the Bar and start doing quests for people?

Damn you responded fast :)! My first playthrough like half the year ago got softlocked because I only made two normal saves and both the quick and autosave got corrupted thanks to Sid, so I pretty much just ragequit. Luckily I was pretty much at the very start of the game when that happened so it wasn't as bad as I thought to start over. I learned my lesson this time and it has saved me more than once to regular save!
The radar shortcut seemed stupid at first but the next document quest is in Pripyat and the main path from Warehouses is a nightmare to take.
Another silly bug I forgot to mention was that when I came to the intersection I was greeted by Duty, Freedom and some Monolith on the pripyat road locked in a standoff while monolith right behind the Dutyers was blasting me to shreds, only when I shot one of the Freedomers did everyone else suddenly spring to life! I also did notice that one of the stalkers in the car park was called Redrick Schutart :).
I'm not really sure what's up with the group of military stalkers stranded in the middle of pripyat in that case, since you can't speak with any of them and they kinda just do their thing until they eventually die, strange...
Once again, great work with your overhaul, can't imagine playing the original mod after after the quality of life changes and bug fixes you've done! One last thing, did you stick that FN2000 in Streloks stash? Seems a bit overkill when you probably aren't even using AK74... Maybe switch it back to stalker suit for the people that didn't find the beril ;)))))

This mod is 50% wacky russian meme mod and 50% what I've always wanted from stalker. I love the secrets all over the place but most of the time I get disappointed when I get to somewhere really weird and there's nothing there, the difficulty and economy are pretty balanced but money goes from extremely scare to a non-issue once you reach the bar and cash out. But there's so much obscure and silly **** everywhere that you'd think this was a super early meme parody of all those crappy russian SoC mods. I mean, killing Strelok, Sid dying to some weird zone lab virus and infecting you, a bunch of fullbright houses and trees pasted in that everyone can see and shoot you through, nonsense lore and x18 leading you right in the middle of the damn brain scorcher spawning you right behind an exo monolithian (im just glad SOMEONE finally made use of that little spot in x18)?? Most of these are problems with the original priboi story and can't be fixed that easily though. Now just some questions, is the group of military stalkers to the left of Pripyat by the crashed heli and invisible building the lost group you're meant to find? And where do you find the x18 lab code, the document about it only mentions some CHAES (as if im meant to know what that even stands for lol) or do I just find it on the main story path? Still, good mod and I can't imagine playing the original Priboi story after seeing how much more stupid **** was in the original that you patched out :))

And now just some minor nitpicks and suggestions.
The number of filler quests you need to do in between the actual story quests is a bit much, especially later on. It is perfectly fine early on when you're still scraping by but the further on you get (around x16-x18) it just becomes annoying to do a ton of chores for factions all over the zone until the game decides I can raid another lab. I would say to make the amount of filler story quests you need to do either gradually or abruptly decrease the further along you go, since hunting down someone or doing some other generic task for an hour or so is just boring once you're a multi-millionaire and have enough supplies and money to just rush the CNPP outright.
The stashes in x18 are still broken, they are just static props instead of actual stashes like in SoC. I.E the safe and green box.
Some places, especially cut locations need some more stashes and love in general, Dead City has (i think) zero stashes besides loose loot laying about in the merc base, so all the explorable buildings really are just dead and empty. Sprinkle some about, maybe dollop some loose loot around in the buildings, perhaps even hide a sniper rifle on one of the rooftops for the really keen explorers. Putting a box up on the x18 entrance stairwell with guaranteed loot would be pretty neat, since you do need to think outside the box and do a bit of parkour on the railings to get up there.
The rear of the CNPP has zero reason to exist currently besides running to the anomaly hotspots for that achievement and being fanservice to those that wanted to explore around in the original games (though there is LITERALLY nothing to find besides SoC loot on the SoC rooftops and square buildings with texture doors that you can climb for some reason), either cut the area down somewhat or give some incentives to explore besides the eighth exoskeleton lying about.
The ecologist route for x18 has a few problems. First of all, once you complete it, you become an ecologist and have to manually rejoin your old faction, second of all, it resets pretty much ALL of your relations back to defaults, so if you got friendly with one faction before they declared war, they hate you again. It is pretty creative and fun though. Pro tip: you can bounce the suit in the hotel stash out with grenades, it gets pretty damaged and is pretty annoying though but you can repair it with your old money!
I really don't expect this to happen but TRX Dynamic News Revamp should be ported into the base game, former fits the whole CoC+ theming of the mod pretty nicely and could be tweaked to work with quests like Untraceable and Loot the Stash pretty nicely.
Finally, on certain resolutions the health and stamina meters in the bottom right are bugged and appear empty for the last 1/5th, vodka empties your bowels slightly too much and running should be slightly faster.

Despite all my complaints, your mod is a MASSIVE step up from CoC and I hope more mod developers would switch over in the future. I'm glad you added so much new content and somehow managed to get it even more stable and optimised than CoC, good job and thanks for reading all of this!

I finally finished my old first a few days back and finished my second playthrough today, and I've got a few questions and suggestions. First of all, (yes yes, the first part IS partly my fault) I locked myself out of completing the story on my first playthrough. I was merc, loners hated my guts (probably because i kept slaughtering them and their leaders), a ceasefire happened but I was still their enemy, one of the two storyline quests was to Meet with Owl, problem was that I killed him so after wiping out the Skadovsk again and getting to him I could do nothing but search his smelly corpse while the map marker just kept pointing to it. Now, perhaps the storyline quest duplicating would help me but no matter how many chores I did for people it would not give me an actual story quest or even solve itself after a few missions. I'm afraid that even if I didn't murder Owl I would still be locked out of interacting with him since I myself am an enemy of loners (like when enemy traders and mechanics run away only punching you of you get too close). A fix to the first issue would be to make it decide who to send you to based on YOUR relations and not your faction's relations. As for the duplicating quests, as long as the main path guy you're supposed to meet isn't dead it seems harmless enough.

Second of all, did you booby trap the Freedom armoury? After 10 minutes of jamming the door open I get greeted with 3 mines on the floor that blow up the second I enter or shoot them, damaging every gun inside to 0 hp. To me it seems pretty lame to wipe out the base of one of the most influential factions in the game just to get greeted by a locked door that you need to glitch open (shooting the lock off does nothing) and even then only being able to get the ammo and two undamaged guns out of it if you're very lucky that are useless outside of selling them for 3k. Kind of a bummer to genocide an entire faction and miss out on a tiny bit more loot because of a locked door and mines.

Third, why did you change the already goofy map layout of the original CoC (Zaton closer to CNPP than Yanov???) into something even more weird? I am a fan of the one-way level transitions for the most part but the farther north you go the stranger the transitions get. Why does Deserted Hospital connect to the top of Zaton instead of the CS portion of CNPP? (and was it being flipped a CoC or a CotZ thing?) Why does the second bridge in CNPP lead to Zaton instead of Generators?
I gotta cut the comment in two since it's unsurprisingly exceeded the character limit.

No, there is a mod for CoC/Anomaly/etc that does add a radio to your pda but I tried it myself and it doesn't in COTZ, crashes when you open your pda. Since I got so far (opening the radio settings on main menu, starting a game) it probably can't be that terribly hard to make it work but I have no idea how to mod.

One massive problem: Whenever I enter a highly radiated area or am in close proximity to any mutant that isn't a tushkano or rat, my fps DUMPS. A wild dog coming up to bite me or running past the radiation belt on the Garbage hills takes me from 40-60 fps to half a frame per second, I have literally no clue why this happens but until I either manage to kill the mutant, get out of the radiation or just reload a quicksave. My game is completely frozen save for one frame jumps every 2 or 3 seconds. Thankfully mild background radiation doesn't cause any noticeable lag.

You can wear them for extra carrying capacity, if you're using artifact degradation it acts like a permanent weight artifact that uses a separate slot and cant be stacked to give yourself 200 carrying capacity like normal artifacts can. They also add more variety to the loot in stashes you come across, so it's not just bandages and consumables in the average non-marked stash you find. Reward stashes could possibly have the chance to give a backpack instead of a gun, suit and supplies. They dont impact the gameplay too much, they normally let you carry an extra weapon or loot unless you manage to find a rare one. I don't think anyone likes running across the zone out of stamina and with their artifact slots filled exclusively with night stars because they don't have a hercules to spare. Since all the upgrades in COTZ are nerfed, you can't upgrade your suit to give it an absurdly high maximum carrying capacity like in regular CoP or CoC, so backpacks would have more of a purpose here. I will admit that dropping backpacks is a useless gimmick unless you're in the CoP maps, Dead City or NPP since there's stashes all over the place in every other map, but they're nothing more than a bonus that came with the original backpack system. Backpacks aren't really an important feature but they sure help with QoL, content and enabling more mods to be made.

Hey, are you thinking of ever adding backpacks into COTZ in the next patch or beyond? If so, will you transition into using R6 or R7 or port them into whatever version COTZ is based off of? They are one of the reasons as to why people may stick to CoC, that and all the mods that haven't been ported.

Hey, I downloaded all the patches (including history addon) but every time I try to wipe the Freedom base, I crash after killing certain random NPCs no matter what, from what I've gathered, it's because there's missing textures and rank for the kiparis gun. I've noticed that sometimes enemies drop a gun on the floor that is completely blue and while I was in the Dark Valley I saw another gun that didn't have an icon when I hovered over it. I'm sure its an easy fix to just put some random rank in for the gun in some file but I can't for the life of me find it, I'm pretty sure I dont even have an E: drive!

In unmodded SoC and CoP, I normally get great armour and thousands of bullets (one time in SoC 3000 5.45 rounds and 1000 5.56 rounds)at a time to the point where firefights are more about fun than micromanaging cover and ammo, same thing with CS after the cordon except the balance is shifted onto having 6 guns on you instead of 6000 bullets. But yeah everything else you've said is true, though the guns sorted by time period addon looks like it might solve a few of the problems...

Ledit: It works, blasted Sultan's guts out with my deagle! the dark valley bandit base has been wiped out and my game hasn't crashed yet!

Infinitely better than the original Call of Chernobyl mod! My only three nitpicks are the lack of menu music, the fact that you can't kill mechanics and faction leaders like in the original CoC and that Veles detectors are way too common inside stashes, it's annoying to clear out an enemy base but have 2-3 invincible NPCs you can't even interact with. Still, good job on giving CoC a story mode that isn't just a copy-paste from SoC and CoP!

Well, this is the first Russian STALKER mod I've ever tried and it's definitely an experience I'm glad I got to have. Right now I feel a little stumped. I did the quest to get the controllers heart artifact (don't worry, I read the guide and i managed to kick it around to the Warehouse entrance) and I tried selling it to Barkeep or the Bandit trader but to no avail, the unique items added by this mod (i.e the .45 laser Vintorez and the controller's heart) almost always don't show up in your inventory when trading or interacting with stashes. So then I ran through Garbage and the ambush and the one in Cordon too. But I couldn't give it to anybody and I still couldn't trade it. So now I've got to either reload the hard save I made just before picking the thing up or I have to play through the rest of this mod without dying or reloading a quicksave. I made a hard save at this point just in case this bug gets patched or I'm missing a random Stalker that wants this artifact and I'll reload back to before I picked this thing up for now. All in all, 8/10, the translations are funny and not quite Clear Sky Reborn levels, the mod itself is unforgettable and it has a new bread inventory icon!
