Arsenal Overhaul REDUX 2.3.2 - Clear Sky

Mod review may contain spoilers

Well, I've finally beaten the mod, despite all the people saying it's terrible and nothing like the original AO. I used history addon (it balances the game pretty well and makes Sid's war museum of an inventory fit in better, just dont sell medkits in CS base or grab anything more than food and drinks from lockers) and the enemies dropping ammo addon (don't use it, they normally drop every single ammo type for whatever gun they're using, and a lot of it). The upsides of this mod are: tons of fun guns spread out for every area of the map, you advance forwards, sell most of your old guns from the last area (besides in dark valley, I'd recommend you to grab a 6.8 and 5.56 gun and whatever else you want, maybe sell a gun you're out of ammo for). you only really start keeping guns up until the end of the game in Dark Valley and beyond. The old guns you're familiar with have custom versions with unique attachments and appearances like AKs with different stocks and camos and SCARs with grips, a big selection even though most of them are practically the same beyond not being able to equip a grenade launcher or weight or whatever. HD models from CoC are a thing, I kinda hate them, especially the 'tistic SEVAs but I know people love them so whatever. There's a ton of tiny touches and changes like jiggle physics (on the gauss rifle wires, of course)))) and new suits. Onto the bad stuff, if you have a gun that fires fast or for long enough, you get some huge fps drops because of the gas and muzzle flash and blood gooshing out of the enemy, that and making guns like the lmgs and rifles fire so fast that they spike up into the sky after 5 shots because the recoil is totally wack is the reason why I was upgrading my guns for accuracy and not speed for the most part. Second, too many ammo types and pointless guns hogging trader inventory, I know I just said this was an upside, but that was mostly talking about the variants with attachments. 5 different versions of the same gun, even if it's some pattern rifle is dumb and only stretches the gun number so the mod can boast about having so many guns. Third, (yes all of these are gonna be fixed in 1.5 don't tell me)metro mutants and spiders, female NPCs and massive rats. None of these fit in STALKER. Now onto the bugs, missing grenade launcher texture for the GP if you put it on the AEK, missing texture and CtD if you kill an enemy using the kiparis (the dev was kind enough to sugguest a fix in the comments though, thanks!), gas completely ignoring all but the very best of anomaly protection (I upgraded my duty suit for the anomaly route and i still have to use at least 2 medkits every time I dive in), enemies dropping ammo at their feet every time they reload using certain weapons (normally dropping 5.45 and .223 remington for some reason), the duty trader just gives up selling things at some point for whatever reason (not sure if it happened at random, because of progression or because I was so absurdly rich at that point), the Freedomers drop like 20,000 rubles worth of notes most of the time, I went duty and so I had 200> notes to cash out at Mitay once I slaughtered them all, I was set for life at that point. At the barrier in Warehouses, every time you quickload, you get 5 seconds of invincibility towards the brain scorcher emissions, so with about 20 saves and loads of going forwards and backwards, you can snag yourself a gauss rifle and all sorts of swag from their corpses way before you're meant to, helped me lower the bridge but I decided to not bother getting more batteries. The enemies are literal bullet sponges and that's a problem everyones aware of. There is a patch out to help and 1.5 will fix it even further, but you can either lower the difficulty (no, master in fact lowers your damage, get off reddit and the steam forums for once), go for headshots or just appreciate having a place to dump your 600 rounds of ammo you have for every gun you've got.

TL;DR its fun if you ignore the bugs, wait until the next update, use the history addon, and have a pc from the last 6 years PC. there aren't many CS addons that are vanilla+ and don't have 30 graphics addons for NASA supercomputers, play it if you've beaten vanilla once or twice!
