This is Guard Duty. Put your feet in the shoes of Barney Calhoun, a security guard at the Black Mesa Research Facility who has no idea that the next few hours are going to change his life forever. Re-live the exciting adventure of Blue Shift, now re-created in the award winning Source engine.
Early WIP of "Living quarters outbound" by "MR.sugar".
Epic looking
Love it
Awesome!
That looks fantastic! The detail is very nice, you guys did a great job on that one.
So you will not use places from Black Mesa mod?
We have no affiliation with the Black Mesa mod and will not be sharing any content. Also, I don't believe there are any areas that appear in both games, with the exception of the very beginning scene where the tram drives past the guard knocking on the door.
There are some more (like the part where soldiers drag Gordon to the crusher), but this game is more tied to the HL:Decay, I would say.
not sharing is mean esp in an open source (freeware) community.
So what's the point through?
nostalgic...
Black Budget much? Black mesa! lol
wow
nice level design... that's for sure... but i have a question.... what's the use of the right platform (the immediate one)
It's amazing when you see a comparison shot of the new to the original. It shows you just how far games and graphics have come since the original game came out. Back in 98/99/00 when the original game and expansion packs came out the (original screen shot) was the ****. Look at it compared to the new one below and it's just a box with a door, platform & ladder, and a tram rail. You look at the new one and see it has curved walls, beams, girders, more detailed platforms & tram rails, and extra rooms.
Almost makes you wanna cry sometimes from the awesome. But you still have to love the box version from the original game since it's from your child/teen-hood. :)
Keep up the good work guys. I never got to play the original expansion packs as a kid. But once you eventually release Guard Duty I'll be playing an updated "Blue Shift."
Your work is great! but,
Why can't you be friends with the other modders like Black Mesa Source... and share content like it's ment to be after all it's not like your selling their content or they are selling yours... same with Operation: Black Mesa whats the deal with the "no contact" order... open source community!
If you check out our forums and find a FAQ there, you will find an answer... ;)
Guard Rails? who needs em
