Getting a strange error Thread - TIE Fighter: Total Conversion (TFTC) mod for Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance

I follow instrustions and install all in order. I downloaded Xwing Alliance from Steam, copied the installed Folder to the desktop, installed from a not root folder ior download folder - XWAU2020.exe - XWAU2020update_v4.0.exe and then TFTC_Update_1.1.exe, turned on the log just to check because of previous attempts

Look at the XWA Launcher and select your currently active Mode - X-Wing Alliance Upgraded (the Light Side)
Install the Updates with XWAU activated - Install updated files - Part 1
Update the files for TFTC Classic and Reimagined - Install updated files
Update the X-WingAlliance.exe files - Patch the EXE files

Always stopped at this point

And get the screen of death and confusion afterwards

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm having what appears to be the same error. Clean install through Steam of XWA (see path at top of screenshot), then XWAU2020, then XWAU2020update_v4.0, then TFTC_Update_1.1. On Step 4 0.0% I get this error:

I think I have my error figured out. It wasn't clear from the instructions I read that you have to install TFTC 1.0 before the 1.1 update.
