Greetings Pilots.

I was trying to find an answer to this online and couldn't. I just figured it out and wanted to share.

I decided to sit down and remap my PS5 gamepad so that it felt better. What I really wanted to do was swap my two joystick axes and use the right stick to control movement. It didn't feel great on the left side, and I want to be able to use the D-pad more easily. Can't exactly do that while steering.

Here's how you can easily swap the axes:

  1. Open Xwa Joystick Config (via splash screen or in game)
  2. Under the first tab 'Settings', look to the bottom half to find pairs of values for Yaw, Pitch, Throttle, and Roll.
  3. Defaults should be set to Axis Indices 0, 1, 2, 3 in that order. Swap their values to 2, 3, 0, 1 respectively.
