XnGine was a 3D engine developed by Bethesda Softworks and one of the first true 3D engines. In 1997 support for higher resolutions was added and in 1998 it was made compatible with 3dfx graphics cards.

You are dead wrong as this is an engine which was actually something new (like an actual 3d game which didn't exist at that time). If you know the lore and are comfortable with dungeons and have a lil bit patience you will enjoy it. Also see Daggerfall unity project, you might see the good side of this game.
