25 years after mankind attacked and defeated the Strogg homeworld, contact with a research outpost fell. A group of 8 Marines is sent to check what happened. The soldiers' dropships are shot down and the player finds himself alone on a hostile world.
The Strogg are back and raided the outpost!
It turns out that 25 years ago, mankind stole the Strogg's slipgate technology and experimented with it at the research outpost. The Strogg want to open a gate to another dimension, plunder it and thus return to old strength.
But this really goes wrong ...
You will have to have the full registered version of Quake installed to play this pack. The Return doesn't contain any assets from Quake.
My goal is to bring back that feeling of the good old late 90s FPS.
I was inspired by canceled & alpha/beta games like:
HACX2
Prax War
Duke Nukem Forever (1998)
Amen The Awakening
Prey (1998)
Daikatana (1997)
Unreal (Alpha)
DOOM 4 (canceled)
Alien Breed Conflict
In The Shadows
The Y-Project
...
In the last few weeks I have reworked some levels in terms of lighting and details:
I also want to complete the first Quake 1 hub soon:
X-Ray played my updated map u1m2! I've updated some rooms, enemie & item placement and improved the elevator shaft.
I'm looking for a new subtitle for my addon. What do you think of "Dash To Perdition" / "Plunge Into Perdition"?
Any news?

Waiting for final version.
Thanks for your interest but the whole mod will take a while.
is that friendly npcs?
No, there are no friendly NPCs.
The friendly bot AI often gets in the way and tends to disrupt the flow of the game.
Will this mod feature the big, bad MOFO from Zaero?
It would be cool to see this mod be picked up by id/Bethesda for the Q2 remasters mod selection in the future
It looks to be pretty damn cool and I love the environmental design
Thank you. Yes, some (professional) help would be great.
is there a way to play this mod on the re-release of Quake 2?
Not at the moment. It only runs on Classic Quake 2 with the KMQuake2 engine.
This requires adding the KMQuake2 extensions to the Quake 2 rerelease DLL.
Any likelihood of porting over to the remastered version of Quake 2 sometime after you've released it?
Nightdive have released the Source Code for the remaster just so you know.
Knightmare does the complete programming of KMQuake2 and also of my addon.
Maybe at some point he will have the time to port the code.
Or there is someone else who wants to port KMQuake2 to KEX.
