- Setup
Using the installer simply just select drive location you want to install too
Example "C:\Program files\Doom Reborn"
- Saves:
To use saves you will need to use the provided patch, It will replace Brent's DoomReborn.exe & Gamex86.dll
With Jonny's.
Known Issues:
Weapons don't carry over after completeing a level
Stat screen music doesn't play
Music slider doesn't exist
Stat screen counters don't calculate correctly
(If you find other issues please report them)
- What's New:
The project is now standalone
i've (Michael Hanlon) adjusted some settings and added Dafama's 1.6 mod into the project
I've adjust some lights in various levels
I've included my incomplete version of Map10 of Doom 2, Now that the project is standalone and open to everyone (Source Code included at github)
I really want to see the community get envolved in someway like dafama2k7 did with his mod for the mod,
If you want to make levels for the project I'd suggest finishing off map10 to get a feel for the idtech4 editor and the doom reborn assets
if you are formiliar with the editor i'd love to see a remake of Romero games "Sigil" Doom 1 Episode 5 fan project by John Romero or other fan levels
over the years that you can find at www.DoomWadSation.net
Once you have made a mod you can submit it at www.DoomWadStation.net as well.
- Enabling Parallax Occlusion Mapping
I've enabled Parallax Occlusion Mapping by default
To disable it, open the command console by pressing left "ctrl" left "alt" and "`" at the same time and type
"image_usecompression 1" and then press enter.
Then type "vid_restart" and then press enter.
The screen will go black then come back grey for a few seconds while it reloads, don't worry that's normal.
After the screen reloads (takes longer if you make the change mid level) that's you all done, press escape or "`"
to close the command line console.
To enable Parallax Occlusion Mapping again follow this same process except use this command instead "image_usecompression 0"

How to get just a weapons/monsters D3? I would like to use them in other mods, not as creator but as player :)
1) Why enemies says "Mein lieben"
2) Why on a gtx 660 (at ""maximum"" preset) it lags
3) Why at "hurt me plenty difficulty i never went under 80% life
Stupid questions while trying this, but i really like the idea, wow, modding on the id tech4, fantastic, but still work needed, hope you are able and you want to add a lot of interesting features for this beautiful idea

It's fitting for map31 of Doom 2 though :D
The game can lag because of the old opengl2 api which i'd love someday to see updated.
You should be able to die and not get locked to 80%
The game at the moment only has 1 difficulty setting which is hurt me plenty each level is built on it, But I promise you as you get further into the game and find some of the many easter eggs you'll be given a real challenge

YEAH!! I played DOOM to its time in the 90th.
The DOOM reborn version is absolutely marvelous! I completely forgot that this game is that old. Big fun and big THANX !!!

You can quick save and use the load menu if you use the saves game patch, health vials work in the saves game patch also counts above 200 though, The stat screen works but the stat screen music doesn't play,

Will be published Linux version?
I've tested it with various versions of Wine over the years and it runs perfectly
Tested on Knoppix and Mint
I can confirm that it works fine also on Ubuntu, and I want to join the congratulations for this great mod/game which is basically timeless like the Nexus in Star Trek: Generations. :)
By the way, I'm trying to upload the installer on DoomItalia in order to offer another mirror, but every time I try, by downloading again the uploaded file and executing it, a problem with the checksum of a file arises, so the installation does not result complete. I still wasn't able to figure out where the issue stands, but I'm considering to upload a package with the unpacked files, if feasible... ;)

Ok! This week I'm on holiday and I don't know how the connection here deals with the uploading of large size files, but next week I will retry by repacking.
A zip package is online here: Doomitalia.it , it contains the files which are extracted by the executable, with the same folder structure.

Bug Report:
1. Shotgun makes no sound when fired.
2. Music Volume slider doesn't change the music volume.
3. Zombiemen say "Mein Leben." You might want to make the SS Soldiers a seperate enemy.
4. I want to map mouse2 to zoom, but it also changes 2 other binds, the PDA and center camera also to mouse2.
5. A lot of errors appear in the console.
Could I join your team? I made remastered sound effects for the classic Dooms, and actually ported them over to your mod.
Forget what I said about the shotgun sound. It works, it was a mistake on my part. On the topic of the shotgun, I think you should change the model, it just looks... Weird. Like, it has the barrel shape of the classic Doom rocket launcher.
Heya Bermanator2000 sorry for the late reply, The SS Soldier sounds came for dafama's mod I meant to remove them till they could be tied to only Map31 of Doom 2, They won't be in the next update.
Also anyone and everyone is welcome to make a mod for Doom Reborn and update it as they like. Personally I would really like to see people continue the levels and update the code.
But if you want to update the sounds and put it out as a update that's fine by me :)
Yeah, I will update the sounds, as I am currently working on finalizing Per Kristan's audio pack with all 107 sounds, as well as lots of adjustments to ones he's done, to make them even more faithful to the original. Sorry for my late reply, ModDB didn't notify me.
I am also going to replace the soundtrack with the SC-55 variant, to keep with the classic feel. I dunno... The soundtrack you decided to use is a bit too extreme and loud, and E1M2 sounds nothing like the original. Perhaps I could make a version with a different sound font. The music needs work anyways, since the songs you used actually clip really badly. Also, I noticed a typo for the name of E1M3. The X is missing from "Toxic." If you could send me the coding stuff, I am not good at coding, but I can make fixes to the code, like add dodging sounds to the enemies, instead of just being their pain sound.
Heya, The letter X is actually missing from the font pack so the letter X isn't displayed in E1M3, another font pack needs created.

If you want to muck around with the game scripts you can open the .pk4 files by renaming them to .zip
You can take a copy of the files you want to update and put a mod out by making another .pk4 the newest .pk4 will be read when multiple .pk4's with the same files exsist.
This is the best Game I ever saw!!!!
new to doom modin community just got a gamepc x mas even from now till then ive seen alot but this is stand out work and as a big fan of knee deep in the dead this is the coolest fukn thing ive seen yet
