- Setup
Using our new installer simply just select your Doom 3 folder and click next
Example "C:\Program files\Doom 3"
After the install has finished you'll have the option to place a shortcut to the "DoomReborn.exe" on your desktop
- Launching the Mod
Brent has made many code fixes and changes that will only work with the new DoomReborn.exe
and gamex86.dll
Like last time this is the new method to launching the mod and for now on
You should always been using the DoomReborn.exe found in the Doom 3 folder
Example "C:\Program Files\Doom 3\"
- What's New:
All textures have been updated and a new water shader has been added based off the nukeage shader
2 new levels E1M9 And Map31
Missing secret in Map01
All levels have had Polishes made to them and various fixes
New easter eggs in E1M7-8-9 and Map03
Menu fixes\updates
Music volume control fixed
Restart Menu updated
Restart after you die fixed
New mouse for the menu
Weapons have been slightly more centred
Blood, Bodies, and bullets marks now stay
Most weapons have been updated in various ways
Shotguners no longer shoot you across the room if standing right in front of them
Imps and pinkies no longer drastically knock the player back when swipe\biting
And probably a couple more things :)

If you have graphical issues, It'll probably be because of "Precompressed Textures being turned on"

It'll show you how to turn it off in game in seconds and how to keep it off even if you delete the DoomConfig.cfg for some reason :)
i keep getting error when trying to run game
it says failed to load default.cfg
The error is caused by the DoomReborn.exe not seeing your Doom 3 base folder
This is because you've installed the mod to the incorrect location,
Doom Reborn needs to be installed to your Doom 3 folder
Also the mod is not compatible with Doom3 BFG Edition
If you've installed Doom Reborn to a random folder you could copy the Doom 3 base folder to that random location and load it from there using the DoomReborn.exe
But also you need to have Doom 3 patched to atleast 1.2 but I recommend using Doom3 1.3.1 (http://megagames.com/download/251148/0)
Is it compatible with doom 3 bfg edition?
No sorry as stated in the previous message, The mod is not compatable with Doom3 BFG Edition
We can thank ZeniMax for Doom3 BFG Edition not being modder friendly
Along with any other recent title that is even idsoftware related since Wolfenstein 2009 version (Rage idsoftware's own title, Brink, Wolfenstein the new order)
Rage is moddable as i know
heya just noticed your message,
Yeah it is, in alpha version 0.815 or 0.82 I had a rage concept included in the download, of a project I was going to start after Doom Reborn
But I don't know if i'll do it in the end,
The rage editor is a separate download which is actually very limited, (not anywhere close to a sdk or previous doom\quake edit)
Pretty much you can only create a map or series of maps and you can't import a whole lot of custom content
There are teams out there trying to rip open rage and doom 3 bfg editon, if I was to do the rage concept i'd be more likely to use bfg editon before rage unless the rage team gain more access,
Last I heard that got a list of content from the .resources files but can't truely unpack and repack the contents yet,
But fingers crossed :)
Btw the true idtech 5 editor can be found in the rage.exe using resource hacker
I absolutely hate the Doom 3 shotgun. Is there any way of downloading only the new textures and lighting, but nothing else...?
