The First Age of the Sun and Moon is perhaps the most eventful timeline within the works of JRR Tolkien. It is steeped in theological and philosophical themes, while retaining the epic scale that most are accustomed to when they think of Tolkien. Our hope is to recreate, as accurately as possible, the words and ideas of the author into the Total War universe. As there is yet to be any concrete display of what we believe to be the greatest and most thought-provoking age within the world of Arda, here is to you Silmarillion: Total War.

Description

A wonderful update, I just read all of the article - a sandbox campaign is the reason i will download this.

I've played many sandboxes in the past, a lot of mods don't have a lot of scripts- it might make your campaign look unfinished compared to Third Age: DAC - but compared to a lot of other mods that should be good enough for a while.

Warcraft: Total war doesn't have a lot of scripts neither, and is in need of a big update - but people still play the campaign.

Im actually 25 turns deep into a Fingolfin campaign myself. Its very basic and obviously in its alpha stages, but there is some fun to be had. I hope you enjoy!

What is your stance on submods? I always do a bit of submodding for my own pleasure but whether or not I'll publish it in the future depends on your team's preference.

My submodding typically bolsters ranged units, grants various buffs to higher tier units to set militia and elites further apart etc.
